In a kingdom haunted by ancient spirits, a girl is given a magical calligraphy brush that turns her writing into powerful spells, but before she can save her village from its attackers, she must first confront her own inner demons.

The Calligrapher’s Spell is a middle grade fantasy adventure graphic novel that uses Chinese Calligraphy (書法) as the basis for a magic system. The story follows a young girl as she learns to harness the power of language by casting spells with her enchanted calligraphy brush. With the power of language in her hands, she embarks on a whirlwind adventure, makes new friends, comes to a deeper understanding of herself, and finally confronts the violence that threatens her home.
